Hakijamii has engaged extensively with policy makers and legislators in the process of facilitating land reform, particularly through legislative reform in the housing sector
Founded in 2004 and registered in 2007, Hakijamii is a national human rights organization that works with marginalized groups to support them to claim their economic and socio-cultural rights. With a secretariat in Nairobi, we have strategic community partners in Nairobi, Kisumu, Garissa, Isiolo, Kakamega, Kwale and Mombasa.
We work with governments, CSOs, CBOs, FBOs, and the private sector to jointly create effective engagement platforms, strengthen capacities and link policy implementation to budgetary allocation towards the realization of economic, social and cultural rights.
To foster and cultivate a society that guarantees the protection, promotion, and fulfillment of all rights for all people of Kenya.
To amplify the voices of the vulnerable individuals and groups and advocating for their economic, social and cultural rights.
