FRAMEWORK FOR THE REALIZATION OF THE RIGHT TO WATER & SANITATION IN KENYA

The Constitution of Kenya 2010 states that “Every person has the right to clean and safe water in adequate quantities.” (Article 43 (1)(d). These provisions coupled with the International community’s recent commitment under the Sustainable Development Goals are vital opportunities to promote the human right to clean and safe water.

It is under this thought that Civil Society Organizations and relevant government ministries teamed up to develop a framework for making operational the constitutional provision of the right to clean and safe water in adequate quantities.
