Kakamega County is one of the highly populated counties in Kenya with a projected population of 2,028,324 distributed among 12 sub counties (according to The Kenya Population and Housing Census 2009). Although the county has well distributed health institutions, they remain under funded and under equipped.
Hakijamii conducted a study to critically analyze government health procurement procedures using Kakamega as a case County. The purpose of the study was to: critically analyze public procurement policies, analyze actual health funds received, examine challenges faced by health facilities and propose simplified health procurement procedure guides.
